About the Legends of Excellence
The Legends of Excellence Brunch was created in 2007 by the UMBC Chapter of Black and Latino Alumni to honor faculty and staff who were instrumental in the lives of UMBC's African-American and Latino students. Held once every 5 years, this event reunites hundreds of UMBC alumni, faculty and staff for an evening of recognition and gratitude. We are pleased to announce our 2012 awardees (click on the awardees names to read their bios):

Ramona Arthur, Former Director of Off-Campus Student Services
Norma Green, Former Coordinator of Student Activities
Bonny Tighe, Senior Lecturer of Mathematics and Statistics
LaMont Toliver, Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Education and Director of the Meyerhoff Scholars Program (Posthumous)

We hope that you will join us to celebrate the many contributions these awardees have made in the lives of African-American and Latino students. Please note that the event requires semi-formal attire.  Tickets are available online, and will be available for $25 until February 29. After that, ticket prices will increase to $30.  If you have questions or would like more information, contact Stanyell Bruce in the Office of Alumni Relations at 410-455-2632 or or Augustine "Jay" Nwachu '03, CBLA president, at
